TriNet is required to provide the Social Security Number (SSN) to our benefit carriers, per Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 which created a mandatory data exchange between medical carriers and Medicare. One of the required data elements in this exchange is a Social Security Number (SSN) for each plan member.
